Job Requirement
Education:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in international relations, international development, public policy, or other relevant social science field is required
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in coordination, project/programme management and coordination, inter-agency coordination, coordination with different AU department and commissions and other GEWE related projects and programs.
- At least one year of experience working on intergovernmental processes related to gender equality and women empowerment is required.
- Experience working with the UN system, African Union, Regional Economic Commissions, and CSOs is required.
- Experience with UN Women Liaison Office to the AU and UNECA is considered an asset.
- Excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
- Self-motivated, strong organizational skills, and ability to work with tight deadlines.
Language:
- Fluency in English and French is required.
- Knowledge of the other UN official working language is an asset.
