Job Summary

  • The purpose of the Social Accountability Officer is to facilitate implementation of social accountability strategies, interventions and capacity-building activities at community level. He/ she will work with the Social Accountability Advisor of the HRA Project in refining the program designing and implementation of all components of the project related to the intersection between social accountability, agribusiness, economic strengthening and nutrition in the target PSNP households. The position holder will participate in the designing and implementation of social accountability mechanisms, and development of training materials/ guidelines. He/ she facilitates the implementation of the formative research in social accountability areas to identify key issues, social norms, and barriers and make recommendations on how to address economic empowerment and government responsiveness to related concerns and challenges. The Social Accountability Officer also contributes to ensuring effective design, implementation and dissemination of learning of a program.

Job Requirement

  • BSc/ BA or MSc/ MA degree in Sociology, Social Works, Development Studies, Business Administration/ Management, Leadership, or other fields of Social Science from recognized universities or colleges.
  • At least three and above years relevant experience; Strong knowledge and working understanding of PSNP and USAID (United States Agency for International Development) Food Security and Resilience programs.; Strong understanding of social accountability technical, management, leadership and policy related issues; Excellent partnership, communication, advisory and the ability to interact effectively with donors, collaborating agencies, local and government partners; Computer literate, with strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
