Job Summary

In this exciting role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent excellence of the various breweries that we serve in Ethiopia and ensure the quality of the beers we assist produce continues to meet every metric of brewing excellence and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You’ll leverage your expertise to guide, train, and empower our technical teams, optimize processes and resource consumptions, and troubleshoot any challenges that arise, while enforcing contract terms and efficient use of chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

Brewery Expertise:

  • Provide expert guidance and technical support to breweries on all aspects of the brewing process in which YANET or its partners have contracted responsibilities.
  • Assist in cleaning-in-place (CIP) processes in the most resource efficient procedure.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure breweries are adhering to established chemical consumption standards, quality and best practices.
  • Develop and implement training programmes for brewery personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest brewing trends, technologies, and regulations, and effectively communicate these advancements to brewery teams both within the company and our client base.

Quality Control:

  • Oversee and manage the quality control programme for all breweries, ensuring consistent product quality and adherence to established specifications.
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory data to identify and address any potential quality issues.
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory personnel to develop and implement quality control methods and procedures.
  • Problem-Solving:
  • Resolve brewing challenges, identifying root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within breweries, optimizing processes and procedures for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality) to address complex brewing issues and ensure seamless operations.

Contract Administration:

  • Manage and strictly enforce contracts that YENET INDUSTRIAL and its partners enter.
  • Review contracts for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with company policies and regulations.
  • Negotiate and amend contract terms when necessary, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of contracts, amendments, approvals, and performance logs.
  • Monitor contract performance, KPIs and address any deviations or discrepancies promptly.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with consumption of chemicals and offer support to rectify and fix the problem.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure to liabilities and losses.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance with contractual obligations.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Generate regular reports on contract performance, risks, and costs for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal departments (Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and Procurement) and others.
  • Facilitate regular contract-related meetings and negotiations.
  • Effectively communicate complex brewing concepts and data to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
  • Build strong relationships with brewery personnel, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive overall brewery excellence and effective contract administration.

Administrative Support:

  • Manage contract-related documentation, including filing, archiving, and retrieval.
  • Develop and maintain contract administration procedures and best practices.
  • Assist with contract administration projects as assigned.

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Brewing Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in a brewery setting, with a proven track record of success in brewing operations, quality control, and with proven administrative and leadership roles for at least four years.
  • In-depth knowledge of brewing processes, including chemical consumptions, and quality control procedures, brewing, CIP, packaging (All aspects).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address brewing challenges effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to motivate, inspire, train and delegate others.
