Job Requirement
- Education: Advanced University degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, Food Technology, Medicine or another relevant field.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant and responsible professional work experience in an international humanitarian organization, specifically in managing and implementing programs related to nutrition, livelihood interventions, food security, and similar activities.
- Language: Fluency (level C) in English and Korean languages.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Lead the implementation of nutrition sensitive programmes that work for food availability, accessibility, homestead gardening, livestock management and other livelihood interventions to improve sustainability.
- 2. Lead the roll out of Social Behaviour Change (SBC) and capacity building to improve diet diversity and stunting reduction.
- 3. Provide technical advice to the Country Office on nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive programme and policy issues including assessment and analysis, the choice of objectives, activities, transfer modalities and commodity choice for nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive programming in line with WFP standards and processes.
- 4. Contribute to the development of nutrition projects and activities, plans, and processes, ensuring alignment with wider nutrition policies and strategies.
- 5. Provide project management support to specific and defined nutrition projects and activities, ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programmes/projects that complies with WFP standards and procedures.
- 6. Develop and coordinate data gathering and monitoring/assessment systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.
- 7. Track and analyse data to provide input into reporting activities and contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on nutrition activities that enables informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
- 8. Liaise with implementing partners (internal and external including government counterparts) to monitor ongoing projects, ensuring effective collaboration, timeliness, and efficiency, and highlight potential risks to project delivery.
- 9. Provide support for operational partnerships including identification of potential partners, partnership negotiations, and inter-agency collaboration to ensure a strong multi-sectorial response to nutrition in both emergency/non- emergency settings using a collaborative and holistic approach to meeting nutrition needs.
- 10. Support the strengthening of national nutrition initiatives, including the development of national government policies related to nutrition and capacity building of WFP staff, partners, and national government to prepare for and respond to nutrition needs for example the production and review of training materials.
- 11. Work with staff in procurement, logistics, finance, programme and other units to ensure effective design and delivery of WFP nutrition programming.
- 12. Guide more junior staff, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with more complex analysis and queries.
- 13. Act in an assigned emergency response capacity as required to meet emergency food assistance needs.
- 14. Other duties as required.
