MSGH is pleased to invite competent and qualified Finance Manager for the hospital. The Finance Manager is a critical member of the Migbare Senay General Hospital (MSGH) leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hospital’s financial operations. This role plays a key function in ensuring the financial health and stability of the institution.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of MSGH, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, adhering to all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard financial assets and mitigate risks.
- Manage cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Conduct variance analysis to identify and investigate significant deviations from budget expectations.
- Generate financial reports for the CEO, Board of Directors, and other stakeholders, providing insights into the financial performance of the hospital.
- Recommend financial strategies to optimize resource allocation and maximize profitability.
- Lead the development of the annual operating budget for MSGH, aligning financial goals with strategic objectives.
- Monitor adherence to the budget and make adjustments as necessary.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the financial implications of proposed initiatives.
- Partner with department heads to ensure their budget allocations align with departmental goals.
- Analyze and identify opportunities to increase revenue generation for MSGH through strategic pricing and service offerings.
- Monitor and report on the financial performance of various departments and services to assess their contribution to overall revenue.
- Collaborate with management teams to develop strategies for improving service efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Stay abreast of current healthcare financial regulations and ensure compliance.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure a smooth audit process.
- Oversee the hospital’s billing and coding practices to ensure accuracy and maximize reimbursement.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures to improve the hospital’s financial sustainability.
- May supervise a team of accounting staff and provide guidance and support.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a healthcare financial management role out of which 2 years in a managerial level.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Excellent understanding of healthcare finance and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff, including the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Proficient in financial accounting software especially in Peachtree accounting software.
- Knowledge and experience of IFRS is mandatory.
